Just finished watching this. I loved it. Made a lot of good points. I feel that instead of trying to get to know yourself and making passionate decisions about your life, people just make shitty decisions. Shitty decisions lead to unhappiness than to wanting to live vicariously through another. From that comes media and obsession. People always say that celebs aren’t allowed to get upset about not having any privacy because they chose to become a celeb. Not so black and white. Just because they chose to follow through on a passion and gained a lot of recognition does not mean they signed away their life. Obviously they have no choice but to deal with the cons of being a well-known actor, musician, director, etc. In this doc the paparazzi are trying to prove a point that they are just trying to pay the bills. They always say what I’ve already mentioned regarding celebs “signing up for this”. I’ve never been wanting to hate on people for needing to pay the bills through less then glamorous means (i.e. stripping, dealing, paparazzi). But for those that do it because they feel some sort of entitlement I have a problem with. Are you that fucked up? Where are your morals? You are CHOOSING to work in a field so degrading that it is exploiting the lives of other human beings like yourself? Self-examination is a powerful thing. Work that shit out. Obviously in the start of the career when no one knows their name (celebs) they are wanting more than anything to be talked about, featured in a magazine (ANY at all), etc. The pap made a great point of celebs wanting the attention in the beginning of their careers than turning their back on the cameras once they are famous. People think of celebs of being perfect or having to live up to a perfect image. They’re fucking people too. ANYBODY would get sick of having a camera in their face from the time they walk to their car in the morning to the time they walk in their house at night. It’s bad enough that society will degrade you to whatever social class it feels you belong in. The lack of self-discovery in people leads to weak-minded shells rejecting themselves because Paris Hilton can drive a pink Bentley, walk the red carpet with whoever the sexy flavor of the week is on her arm, and didn’t have to do anything to be rich. If you step back and examine the pros and cons of her life, then REALLY think about what you want, you’ll probably come to see that you don’t what a pink fucking Bentley, a billion people talking about you, and a shit ton of people trying to take your picture when you’re leaving the gym. Final point: Get a fucking life. |
